OCR A Level Physics formula sheet

Physics is a science which requires you to know physics plus maths. If you want to be good at physics you should be good in maths as well.

For OCR A level students one of the primary things they get in exams apart from the question paper  is a formula sheet. As much you are familiar with your specification it is mandatory for a OCR student to know about his/her formula sheet as well. Don’t panic yourself while thinking that formula sheet is something extra to your studies. In fact it is something (if you see it closely) which will make things easier for you when you are writing your exams.Under the immense stress of the exams when few of the students have not slept to their full in the last few days, your brain might fog out and therefore for such students formula sheet is something which will bring breath of fresh air to their suffocation within the compacted examination hall

Lets have a quick overview about the formula sheet page by page.

Pages 1 and 2 formula sheet which are shown to you in the picture below covers five topics namely:

1. Kinematics: This section includes formulas related to motion, including displacement, velocity, acceleration, and time.

2. Dynamics: This section covers formulas related to forces, including Newton’s laws of motion, friction, and momentum.

3. Forces: This section includes formulas related to different types of forces, including gravitational force, normal force, and tension.

4. Energy: This section covers formulas related to energy, including kinetic energy, potential energy, and conservation of energy.

5. Momentum: This section includes formulas related to momentum, including linear momentum and angular momentum.

There is something interesting to note just have a look at the example question from OCR A paper 2 June 2018.Question is asking about something in which you have to calculate the area of the circle,if you are worried about your weak basic mathematics then don’t worry just have a look over the formula sheet and get your help from there. You must be wondering that why to use formula sheet for such an unchallenging and basic formula. But you could see another example from the same paper where you have to solve question by using logs. Its not easy for some students to remember the log rules especially the biology students who are not studying maths in A level.Read the pages 1 and 2 of formula sheet thoroughly:
As we continue with the OCR A level Physics formula sheet, pages 3-4 provide essential equations and formulas for advanced topics in physics. These topics include Waves, Electromagnetism, and Thermal Physics.

What’s Covered?

The OCR A Physics formula sheet, pages 3-4, covers the following topics:

1. Waves: This section includes formulas related to wave motion, including wave speed, frequency, and wavelength.

2. Electromagnetism: This section covers formulas related to electricity and magnetism, including Ohm’s law, resistance, and electromagnetic induction.

3. Thermal Physics: This section includes formulas related to heat transfer, thermal energy, and thermodynamic processes.

If you look the picture below carefully you will see the pages 3 and 4 from formula sheet with example of specimen paper question.OCR A level students have to cram a lot formulas from the vast specification they have to learn. So I being a tutor for A level students for the last ten years I always advise them to learn as much as they can and the rest of it they can take the help of formula sheet and make their life easier 🙂
